Match Report

5th Nov OLDLAND 1 v 2 HIGHRIDGE UTD.

Another great win for the new look and revitalised "RIDGE". We're on the march!! Slowly but surely things are starting to look better for us and it's without doubt that the arrival of the JOHN (Ronnie Biggs) BERRY consortium is the reason why. With quality and experience coming into the team you immediately see the effect it has on the rest of the squad. Lifted.

Oldland are a good team and have some very good players and certainly gave us a game. But our commitment was faultless. We had to play against the referee for most of the game too, he was shocking!! Having JENKS in goal gave confidence to all in front of him, nice to live without fear, (no offence Shaun)

JOHN (chicken) KEMMERY seems to improve with age. Like an opened can of Thatchers left to breath for six weeks. Nice one JOHN played well mate. BEN TRICKEY again worked tirelessly and looked really dapper in his clean ironed shirt. NICK (the Rat) GOULD had to multi-task this week at right back and in mid-field using two lungs to great effect.

ALEX (capt) SULLY played his part well alongside stand-in centre back RONNIE BIGGS. A temporary partnership for now. KEV TAYLOR usually a striker had a blinder in mid-field and made a massive difference. His experience certainly helped JOE (The Bollox) REEVES to settle into a new role for him. JOE didn't let us down and had a good game in there untill moving out wide to fill in for DAN STOCKWELL who was suffering with a chest infection. He still gave it everything though. NICK TOWNLEY had another good game and created problems down the left. Worked up and back well. Can't ask for more than that can you? Perhaps a few more goals maybe!!

DARREN POOLE and ADAM (winnie) WINSTONE lead and held the line. Really worked well together. If only DARREN was 20 years younger, OR if only WINNIE was 30 years older, what a partnership. Anyway!! Inspired substitution of the day was the risky introduction of JOHN(snowy) SNOW. Still in recovery from that leg break. SNOWY went into the back four to free up JOHN (Ronnie) BERRY to do what he does best. WINNIE who levelled for us earliery in the half made a move which RONNIE read and slotted him through. With mirrored effect to his first goal, WINNIE got into the box and grabbed us the winner with minutes to go.

MOTM. WINNIE WINSTONE. Quality mate.
