Highridge Reserves took the lead at Nicholas Wanderers when a speculative shot from 30 yards by James Lesley deceived Geoff Hook in the home goal. The experienced Nick Buck limped-off with a leg injury, but 16-year-old substitute Andrew Talbot showed promise in midfield for Highridge, who were on the back foot for long spells. Highridge defended well for most of the second-half and their 40-year-old keeper Bob Sullivan completed several fine saves only to be beaten by Lee Peacock in the closing stages of a 1-1 draw.
