Highridge 2 v 1 Avonmouth

Great cup win for us on Saturday. It was a joy to watch all the players working together and playing with great determination and confidence.Very difficult to single out anyone for the Man of the match award as there were many candidates.

SHAUN BRIDGES as usual was a tower of strength at the back and commanded everything. The addition of JOHN BERRY in mid-field was an added bonus and he i believe gave the others that extra boost. Great to have WINNIE WINSTONE back playing too, he really does make a difference and scored the winner for us. NICK (The Rat) GOULD had an outstanding first half before being replaced with lung failure by JAY LUCAS who equally dominated his possition.

DARREN POOLE again did what he does best and made things very hard for the Avonmouth defence. He did give us a bit of a scare at one point, when going flat out chasing a ball over the top he looked like he wasn't going to stop and continue to crash through the back of ROY VINCENTS garden. A body that large can sometimes take over a mile to stop. Fortunately some dog shit slowed him down enough to grab a passing tree.

Anyway back to Man of the match. For a second week running BEN TRICKEY gets the vote. Outstanding and totally commited to the cause.
